Hi. My name's Rachel. I'm 26. I started wearing contacts in fifth grade, and in college, I thought that I was invincible, and I decided for whatever reason to sleep in my contacts. And so after I had taken my contacts out, the doctor told me that I had ripped off most of my cornea. That was the light bulb that went off, and I decided I really need to start taking care of my vision. So, when I turned 25, I decided to start saving up so that I could get LASIK. I really wanted to go to someone who is trusted in the community and who has a good reputation. Spending that money that I had worked hard to save, I wanted it to go toward something that would be life-changing and really worthwhile. So, after I did my research, I went into TLC and they were very professional. They saw me at my appointment time. They welcomed my family, and they just really made me feel like I was in good hands. And after my surgery, I looked at my fiancé and I was just, I was shocked. I thought, "Wow, you're so cute." And I just couldn't believe I had scored such a hottie, and so I was so excited. I could picture myself looking down the aisle and seeing him, and going on our honeymoon and not having to take out my contacts, or worry what I'm going to look like on our wedding night wearing big embarrassing glasses. And so I'm just, I'm so excited. While I was recovering, my family was in town, and Dr. Holzman followed up to see how my surgery went and how I was doing, and so I was so excited. My mom was reading my text messages at the time because I was recovering. So she said, "Rachel, your doctor reached out to you." And she actually texted him back and told him, "The patient is doing well." About a month later, I was flying home, and I looked outside of the plane and I saw a football field, and I grew up playing sports. I've seen a football field a million times, and I know that it has lines, but I've never seen that from the airplane, so I was able to see the lines on the football field and that just shocked me. PRK surgery has changed my life.
