Refractive Surgery Technology: Innovative Approaches to Enhanced Vision
Topography Guided Custom Ablation Treatments
The Contoura™ Vision is an advanced technology that performs Topography-guided custom ablation treatments (T-CAT) for patients who are nearsighted. This breakthrough technology allows ophthalmologists to treat a wider range of patients. By creating large optical zones, which allow doctors to fully replicate the cornea in a way that was not possible before, and ultimately provide them with better outcomes. It is designed to treat primary myopic vision, with or without astigmatism. The treatment is safe, effective, and can help you achieve enhanced visual acuity.
Wavelight® FS200
The WaveLight® FS200 Femtosecond Laser provides precise and efficient treatments resulting in reliable patient outcomes. For highly advanced LASIK treatments, the WaveLight® FS200 Femtosecond Laser offers customized flap creation options relative to individual adjustment of flap size and shape, adjustable hinge position and hinge size, and variable angles for the side cut incision.
Wavelight® EX500 Excimer Laser
The WaveLight EX500 Excimer Laser system combines a number of innovations in refractive technology to produce fast, effective and reliable procedures.1–4 Its proven, state-of-the-art technology results in excellent Wavefront Optimized® and Wavefront-Guided laser vision correction.
Allegretto Wave™
The Allegretto Wave™ laser system provides individualized vision enhancement. The system uses advanced eye-tracking technology to provide precise correction. This system can treat a wide variety of refractive errors, making it a viable option for many patients. The Allegretto Wave™ provides patients with enhanced daytime and nighttime vision.
Wavefront
Wavefront technology offers precise diagnostic measurements of the eye. It detects visual imperfections called aberrations, which include lower-order aberrations and higher-order aberrations. Refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism are lower-order aberrations. Higher-order aberrations are more complex visual errors that can result in glare, halos, starbursts, blurred vision, or double vision. With the advent of Wavefront technology, we can correct both lower- and higher-order aberrations to provide extremely clear and precise vision.
