Got LASIK through Dr. Holzman and have excellent vision now. Though I only interfaced with Dr. Holzman day of the surgery, he was very kind and calming during the, in my opinion, slightly scary procedure (no pain though). He even texted me with his personal line afterwards to reach out if I had any concerns. Highly recommend!

When I saw 5 stars, I thought it was too good to be true, but let me tell you his work is outstanding. I truly believe he deserves every single star. We need more doctors of that caliber.

Dr. Holzman and all of his supporting staff were amazing from start to finish. I felt very comfortable and confident that I was in good hands leading up to and during the procedure. I would recommend Dr. Holzman to anyone seeking Lasik treatment, and to anyone nervous about the actual procedure, there’s nothing to be afraid of. It was completely painless, and the few seconds of minor discomfort are well worth the lifetime of improved vision.

Dr. Holzman is a rockstar. He’s previously done my dad and older sister’s eyes as well. I recently got Lasik at the age of 23, which at first made me really nervous since I’m still pretty young and had a -7.00 prescription… As soon as I went in for my consult and met Dr. Holzman and his team, any reservations I may have had immediately disappeared. You can tell how much care they put into their patients before the surgery to ensure that you are a perfect candidate for Lasik before moving forward. Just be being in the office you can tell how incredibly professional and knowledgeable everyone at TLC is. Dr. Holzman is an incredible doctor, so confident while still being completely transparent. I would’ve never gotten this surgery done by anyone else. I am convinced my surgery went so well solely because I was under Dr. Holzman’s care, his experience and technique is what changed my life! The way I shared my experience to my friends and family has led two of my friends to already go schedule their consults with Dr. Holzman. Stop reading these reviews and just call TLC and make your appointment, you will NOT regret it!!!!!!

Dr. Holzman was great!! Although I didn’t get to meet him until day of surgery, I was confident in his knowledge and skills from everything I’ve read about him. I was really anxious day of surgery, and he reassured me that everything will be okay and to just “trust the pilot”. I love that he took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and at ease. During surgery, he talked me through the whole thing and everything he was doing. It went by so fast, maybe under 10 minutes. I couldn’t believe it! Immediately after surgery, I could already see so much better than I could without glasses/contacts, with some expected blurriness. I was so happy!! That evening, he personally texted me to check in and to allow me to ask any questions that I might’ve had. I really appreciated that! Dr. Holzman is kind, professional and knowledgeable. I recently had LASIK Eye surgery in Tysons Corner, VA. I have been wearing glasses for 40 years or so. The people and staff are very professional and very easy to work with. They took their time to make sure that I was going to get the vision I was looking for. The nurses were very understanding when getting my scans. They had to hold my eyelids open as I couldn’t hold them open long enough to get the scans. They check you multiple times to make sure they get everything right. Dr. Woo is the one who double checked my final prescriptions to get me what I wanted took her time and was very patient. On the day of the surgery, they check you again just to make sure they have everything right. Dr. Holzman who actually did the surgery is a very upbeat doctor and has vast experience at performing these surgeries. He is very good at putting your mind at ease. You are awake for the entire surgery so that he can talk to you. There is only some mild discomfort which is to be expected for the surgery. Dr. Holzman asks multiple times even though he is talking to you while performing the surgery if you are doing ok. For me it was the most comfortable stress free surgery I have ever had. Also since I worked with the doctor getting the best prescription with my eyes I was seeing 20/20 the following day. I love my new eyesight and highly recommend the doctors and staff. Well worth the money and the experience was painless. I have already recommended them to friends of mine who are looking to get LASIK.

Had my Surgery Wednesday and was immediately seeing so much better. As they say, the first 48 hours it fluctuates, bit no pain nor discomfort and my vision is stabilizing with amazing clarity! Dr. Holzman kept me cool, calm and collected the whole time, and it was so fast you wouldn’t even know it happened. Very appreciative I finally went ahead and did it!

Got my Lasik procedure done 5 days ago and my eyes feel perfect. Dr. Holzman is incredible. I was really anxious going into my procedure, and right before I went into the laser room I met Dr. Holzman. He could tell I was noticeably stressed but he told me that it was going to be fast and easy, to breathe, and to trust him. That I did – and he was right! This was the easiest procedure ever, I felt no pain, wasn’t uncomfortable, nothing. He explained to me what was going on the entire time so I felt much more comfortable. Within what felt like just a few minutes I was done, and I could see the right when I sat up! Dr. Holzman even reached out the night of the procedure to check up on me and that was greatly appreciated. This guy is the real deal. Would recommend him to anyone who wants a stress free experience.

Had lasik done a couple of days ago. I am already seeing very well. The entire staff is excellent and the overall experience was phenomenal. The worst part was when they put pressure on the eye, but it’s not bad. The actual laser portion was painless. These people know what they are doing. Highly recommended.

I just got my procedure done by Dr. Holzman. Talk about better than expected! Doc made it super comforting!! He prepped me in such away that it calmed all nerves going into the procedure. He even follows up personally the same night. Recommending him to everyone I know who wants to get laser vision.

For few months after: My eyes felt dry for a couple of months after that, and the eye drops were a nice help that I had to stay with.

Now: At this point, I forget that I ever even had the procedure. My eyes are not dry, and my vision is great.

An outstanding service from start to finish! They think of every little detail involved and their personnel work hard to make you comfortable throughout. I had my surgery last week, and I’m still amazed that it took such little time–maybe 90 seconds per eye. My only regret is that I did not get it done sooner. Dr. Holzman is a sublimely talented surgeon. He is a tremendous combination of professionalism and personality. He keeps you comfortable throughout the LASIK and lets you know what is happening as it’s happening. I wish more doctors had his level of personal touch and dedication to their patients.

Altogether, an absolutely fantastic service and I’m profoundly grateful. I have 20/20 vision without glasses or contacts for the first time in my life, and I’m really looking forward to a future without the constant hassle.

I had done Lasik surgery with Dr. Holzman around a week ago and am so happy with the results so far. My eyes feel great, and I was able to see almost perfectly immediately after the surgery, although I experienced some normal, mild discomfort until after I took a post-surgery nap. I did my pre-operational visits and surgery at the Tyson’s Corner location, and I did two of my post-operational visits at the DC location.

Before deciding to go with Dr. Holzman, I had done consultations with two other surgeons. The other two surgeons were not sure whether they could perform Lasik without taking off too much of my cornea and permanently damaging my eye (resulting in “corneal ectasia”). These surgeons instead recommended PRK surgery for me, which costs the same as Lasik, but has a much longer and more unpleasant recovery process. I was initially planning to do PRK until I did my consultation with Dr. Jen Weigel at the Tyson’s Corner location. After taking my measurements, Dr. Weigel seemed confident that Dr. Holzman would be able to perform the Lasik without resulting in ectasia, and she calculated my measurements again on the day before my surgery to confirm that there would not be any problems. I was very impressed by how thorough she was during my two pre-op visits and appreciated how she took time to answer my many questions about the surgery. In addition to doing the two pre-op visits, prior to the surgery, she had me take various eyedrops (a prescription eyedrop for dryness, artificial tears, a steroid drop, and an antibiotic drop) and vitamins, and she had my regular eye doctor dilate and check my eyes. The other surgeons that I met with seemed much less careful; one even offered to do the PRK surgery on me on the same day as my initial consultation. Although I didn’t meet Dr. Holzman until the day of my surgery, I was very happy with the care that I received from Dr. Weigel. The surgical consultants at the Tyson’s Corner location, Tina and Maria, were also wonderful.

The surgery itself took well under ten minutes. Right before the surgery, the staff gave me some medication before the surgery, and Dr. Holzman came by to walk me through the process. Since my eyes were numbed, I didn’t feel anything except for some light pressure on my eyes when Dr. Holzman was cutting the flap. As soon as the surgery was over, my vision was near-perfect. Having worn glasses for 23 years prior to the surgery, I was overjoyed to finally be able to see naturally and nearly started crying. After taking a nap after the surgery, my eyes felt almost back to normal. Dr. Holzman kindly texted me that evening to check on me, which I much appreciated.

I did my one day and one week follow-ups at the DC location, which was closer to my home, with Dr. Jo Angeles and Dr. Eveena Mahal, respectively. Both Dr. Angeles and Dr. Mahal seemed reasonably friendly and competent, but my visits seemed rushed, especially compared to my visits with Dr. Weigel. I definitely recommend that prospective patients in DC commute to Tyson’s Corner to do their pre-op visits with Dr. Weigel.

As for pricing, Dr. Holzman is more expensive than the other doctors in the DC area, but there are coupons on the website or Groupon that you can use to make the cost around the same.

It can take up to 2 months to get to 20-20 vision after PRK eye surgery. I got to 20-15 in one week! Everything about them is first class: the staff, process, and surgeon especially! I was checking out all Lasik providers and Dr. Holzman lived up to all the positive reviews and recommendations from friends that had gone there before me. Such an amazing group of doctors and staff.

I went to see another provider the same morning I met with them and they were ready to put me under the laser that Saturday morning which was only 3 days after my first appointment.

They took the time to explain every step of the process. * Why it was important to do multiple pre-op exams after my contacts had been out for an extended period of time instead Of rushing me into the procedure. The eyes shift and reshape over that time so that delay is paramount. * What to expect the day of and the days, weeks and months following the procedure. Dr. Weigel was meticulous in the initial and post procedure exams and I even got multiple calls from Dr. Holtzman checking in to make sure all was well. Brittany and all the other staff in the front office were so warm and welcoming allowing me to look forward to each visit.

Each post-op exam since my procedure (done on August 21, 2019) has been amazing. They have answered all of my hypochondriac questions and essentially held my hand cause I am a big baby!

As of Day 6, it is remarkable how great it has been. My left eye had an extremely high astigmatism so it is lagging behind the right eye, which is crystal clear, but again, due to all of their pre-op knowledge transfer, I knew that the left eye would take more time allowing me to level set my expectations.

I have lots and lots of doctors and have through more than a dozen procedures and surgeries and this tops them all. If I had another pair of eyes I would be going back! Hope this review helps someone in their journey. Have a great day!

Very caring and knowledgeable staff

for the pre and post Op in Tysons (Dr. Weigel and Dr. Wu come to mind), explained everything to me clearly and gave me time to answer any questions I had while respecting me. I went in for PRK for both eyes, and the surgery was quick and successful. They all truly had my health and comfort as a priority. Dr. Holzman also gave me his number to text him whenever I had a question, which he would reply quickly to. It’s been 6 days since my surgery, and my vision is getting better every day (it’s about 20/50 now). I cannot stress how great it was that they walked me through the recovery and medication- I am a very organized person and they certainly gave me piece of mind!

PRK surgery here. I’m very happy with having gone here. I was referred by another PRK patient and was reassured of my choice after the consultations and Pre-Op visits.
As for the surgery itself, it was quick and painless. Less than 10 minutes? think they worked on my eyes for like 5 minutes or less. Wiped my eye with something and looked at a dot. Not sure if it can get any simpler than that.
I had no serious discomfort (The internet made it sound like some horrible experience) following the surgery until about 5 days later when I accidentally poked my eye, but (the doctor) was fantastic with all the follows ups to ensure everything healed up. Everything healed up just fine and no more contacts or glasses for me. Yippie!

Pro Tip: Don’t poke your eye! but seriously it was a great experience, just follow all the pre op directions given to you in the packet and on the schedule for post op. It’s all written out.

It’s only been 5 weeks, but the night vision is still a little off with the halo/glare around bright lights, but nothing tragic and it keeps getting better. Even if it wasn’t getting better, the trade off to not wearing contacts is still worth getting the surgery.

I had my lasik done with Doctor Holzman three years ago. I think I’ve waited enough to write this review. After three years, I’m still beyond happy with my results. I have done three eye exams since the lasik and my vision is still relatively stable.

I was very impressed with the level of care I was given for my lasik surgery. Going into the pre op appointment they noticed one eye was on the boardline for lasik and PRK. Instead of just giving the go ahead they reached out to the surgeon to make sure he was comfortable. That impressed me and made me feel very confident that I was in good hands. This is probably one of the best things I’ve ever done. I was aware of all the symptoms and am basically experiencing no side effects outside of light halos. I had -9 vision yesterday and now, I’m seeing 20/20. This is crazy. Dr. Holzman and Dr. Weigel made me so relaxed and comfortable.

Great customer service and excellent surgeon! I got Lasik a few days ago at TLC and I now have 20/20 vision, very minimal symptoms during the healing process, and everything is going really well. Dr Holzman was great. My only very minor complaint is that the day of procedure in which I spent 2 and a half hours there, only involved about 15 mins of staff interaction, 15 min zen time, and 10 mins for the procedure. I feel I could have been brought in at a different time to avoid sitting for over an hour and a half in the waiting room. Too much time to get anxious. But the surgery was better than expected and the staff very knowledgeable and supportive. Dr Holzman even texted that evening to check to see how I was doing. Would definitely recommend.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! The entire staff is extremely nice and Dr. Holzman did such an incredible job. He makes sure to answer all your questions and puts you at ease from the time you meet him to when your procedure is complete. He walks you through during the procedure and explains every step as it occurs. The young lady who did all my pre-op work up was also very pleasant and professional… I wish I caught her name. The procedure is quick and painless. The only discomfort comes from the pressure but it only lasts a few seconds. Breathe and it’ll be over. I went to see my doctor the next day and I had 20/20 vision! I didn’t have any pain, redness swelling etc. My eye doctor said it doesn’t even look like I had anything done. I would recommend them to everyone who wants lasik but is apprehensive. You will be in great hands. THANK YOU TLC AND DR. HOLZMAN!

Very professionally run office. Everyone including Dr. Holzman were great!

As I’m sure every single person will say, I was very nervous heading in to the OR. But, Dr. Holzman made me feel at ease for the whole experience. I’ll admit, it was hard at first to keep my eye where they needed it too, but once I care up with the mantra “green light” it became easier for me to know where my focus was supposed to be. Everything was explained to me post care! I went home and slept for several hours, and then slept some more! I woke up and put my glasses on and was shocked to find that I didn’t need them… force of habit! I don’t regret this at all.

I had Lasik done with Dr. Holzman and it was breeze. Dr. Holzman spoke to me before procedure to give an idea about the whole process and tips on how not to be nervous. He also spoke to me during Lasik and after done I asked myself “is that it?” So if you’re thinking about Lasik go to Dr. Holzman. Icing on the cake is Dr. Holzman will personally text you to see how you’re doing after Lasik. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars.

Dr. Holzman and his staff are consummate professionals. You can trust their capabilities if you choose to go with their office, which I highly encourage you to do! Their bedside-manner, process efficiency, and outstanding results make them the best Lasik Treatment Center.

The whole process requires 3 trips to their offices. Trip 1 – a free consultation where they take preliminary scans of your eye’s health and discuss potential options (i.e., Lasik or PRK). They determined I was candidate for Lasik, which has a shorter recovery time. Following, if you opt for surgery, you’ll need to visit with your optometrist and return for Trip 2 to finalize the specifications for your surgery through the same scans from Trip 1. The third and final trip is your surgery day. I was there for a total of 1.5 – 2 hours. However, surgery was less than 15 minutes. Dr. Holzman and his staff set-up a comfortable environment before, during, and after surgery. During surgery he will talk with you, so you know how much longer the process will take. The important part is to breathe and trust that you’re in the most capable hands.

While your mileage may vary, since I was 7 years old I was unable to see the logo on my shirt or shoes – I had poor vision and an awful astigmatism. After I sat up from the operating table, I could see the clock on the opposite wall and tell you the time! Not only can I tell that the surgery was successful by my vision, but my optometrist commented on how good my eyes looked, after the surgery. No more than 4 hours after surgery could I return my normal routine, albeit with more eye drops and slight halos. However, these are known side-effects following surgery.

Not needing corrective lens after over 20 years is a profound experience and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go to Dr. Holzman and his staff. Thank you so much!

Dr. Holzman made the process a breeze .He was professional, answered all my questions, and the procedure was successful! I felt I was in great hands and will happily recommend Dr. Holzman.

Dr. Holzman was very straightforward about the procedure and very thorough in explaining how everything worked. I didn’t have any real questions because the rest of the staff at TLC answered everything, but he was ready to answer anything I was curious about. The procedure was quick and painless, we pretty much had a conversation the entire time. I can’t recommend Dr. Holzman enough.

Dr. Holzman performed PRK surgery on me about a month ago, and I wanted to share my experience. My vision correction is so much better than with eyeglasses. Everything you can see (entire field of vision) is in focus for long-distance and middle-distance vision. Compared with eyeglasses, there is a wider field of view compared with glasses, but markedly less distortion and much sharper long-distance vision – my vision is better than with eyeglasses. If you are considering Lasik or PRK I recommend that you have an exam with Dr. Holzman and discuss your options. I’m happy I decided to have the procedure, and was really impressed by Dr. Holzman, and the results have been amazing – my eyesight is better than with eyeglasses!

Here are some details:

Everything from the initial counseling to the follow up after the surgery has been a great experience. The initial counseling was clear and easy to understand, and described the various options I had. The initial exam and counseling about whether to undergo Lasik or PRK was helpful (I do martial arts, and they recommended PRK instead of Lasik because of the risks posed by martial arts). The initial counseling is important, because you have to make some decisions about, for example, whether you want to optimize long-distance vision, or want to correct the vision of each eye differently, so you have greater depth of field (retain more short-distance vision). If you need reading glasses currently/before surgery, you will still need them after surgery – at least that’s been the case for me. The procedures I was eligible for at the time of my surgery (December 2018) could not correct presbyopia (the need for reading glasses as we get older).

The process went exactly as described. The surgery itself, from my perspective, was simple, painless, and quick. They provide very helpful instructions on what is required after the surgery (various eye drops mainly) and clear instructions about follow-up visits. Part of the counseling stressed that it would take a bit for my vision to recover (because I did PRK rather than Lasik). Compared with a friend of mine who did PRK with another surgeon, my recover has been faster. Initially there are some temporary side effects, consistent with the ones described in the initial counseling – halos from lights at night, and I had some sensitivity to bright sunlight. But those mostly resolved after a few weeks, and now after a month they have completed gone away.

As far as the recovery, the counseling stressed using artificial tears, and using those regularly eliminated any discomfort. In my work, I spend most of the day in front of computer screens – even before the surgery I would sometimes experience dry eyes. But using the artificial tears has even made this go away, so my eyes feel better after the surgery! I have no second thoughts and recommend scheduling a visit if you are thinking about it – it will give you helpful information.

Great experience. Felt very taken care of and very reassured that everything would go smoothly. And it did!! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic at every stage- pre-op, during the operation, and post-op. Less than 24 hours after surgery my eyes are already seeing 20/15.

Any enhancements are considered and reconsidered; the recommendation to enhance or not considers the ocular health and visual outcome as well as safety as paramount. TLC was amazing. I have wanted Lasik for a few years, but because of glaucoma I was not able too until my vision remained steady fora few years. TLC took all the precautions to ensure I was a safe candidate for the procedure. I decide to have mono vision Lasik so would not need reading glasses. Dr. Holzman and the TLC staff provided excellent service made me feel very comfortable during the process, What a life changing experience. I did my research before selecting Dr Holzman. He and TLC have a very conservative approach to Laser eye treatment. While others were willing to have me immediately advance into the treatment, Dr Holzman saw some minor risk areas that he wanted abated before we did the Lasik procedure. I had the risk areas investigated and mitigated and followed his preop workup requirements. The procedure was fully explained to me so when I experienced some of the conditions (eye sight going dark when they secure the eye in place to create the flap) I didn’t panic for I was informed. The procedure went flawless and recovery has been without complications.

I had my LASIK done back in September and wanted to wait a little while for the results before posting this review. Now I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

My procedure at TLC was quick and easy. I originally got LASIK to do away with the trouble of contacts and glasses, but now I’m seeing even better than I was before with corrective lenses. I cannot believe how easy it was, and I wish I had done it sooner. I highly recommend Dr. Holzman and the entire TLC staff, who answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable. It really did change my life.

I highly recommend Dr. Holzman, and the staff at the Tyson’s Corner TLC. My experience was seamless from my first introduction throughout my recovery. The staff at this facility are top notch – incredibly helpful, insightful, and with excellent bedside manner. I felt I knew all the information upfront, with full transparency. I requested to get the procedure as quickly as possible, and they were honest in guiding me through a process that helped me accomplish this without sacrificing my recovery. I would, naturally, be weary of any place that promises to slice my eyes open, but strangely I felt at ease with Dr. Holzman. He was incredibly friendly and professional, and helped to keep my nerves in check mid-procedure. 20-20 hindsight, I had nothing to be nervous about in the first place. Not to mention the benefits of brand new eyes. 11/10 stars.

Dr. Holzman does a really great job at walking you through your procedure and making you feel really comfortable! I am so happy I chose to go with him and TLC for my lasik procedure and am SO happy with my results!!

Dr. Holzman and his team are very good at what they do. Everyone I talked with about the LASIK procedure was very up front about what to expect for an outcome. The actual procedure was very quick and painless and exactly as described. As expected, my vision was a little blurry on the ride home but not bad. After the prescribed 3-hour nap, I woke to vision that I haven’t had in years. My vision was easily good enough for me to go to work the next morning prior to my 1-day post-op follow up. Reading text messages or working on a computer were no problem at all.

At my one week follow up, I have 20/20 vision in my right eye and almost 20/20 in my left eye. My right eye has been awesome since day one for both near and far vision. My left eye has been good up close and is slowly gaining clarity at longer distances. I do notice increased glare from bright lights at night, but this is supposed to fade over time. The dryness at night faded considerably after about five days. I’m still using drops, but have to remind myself to put them in because I don’t feel dryness near as much.

Overall, I could not be happier with the outcome. I’m sure my vision will continue to improve over the coming months. The improvement experienced in day one alone was enough to make me happy.

I had a great experience and was really impressed by Dr. Holzman and his staff at every stage of the process with the consultation, pre-operation visit, and surgery. They give a lot of information about laser eye surgery and were able to answer any questions I had. I felt like I was in good hands from the beginning and that continued on through surgery.

Dr. Holzman did a really good job with my surgery. He was very specific in his requests in the operating room and seems very confident in his work. My vision with both eyes is 2015, and as many people say it’s some of the best money I’ve ever spent. The only long term issue I have is some dryness in my eyes. If I had to pick between wearing glasses and occasional dry eye, I choose not wearing glasses. The surgery itself is more discomfort than any kid of pain. They give you a Xanax for surgery and suggest a drink later to make sure you sleep after surgery or you could experience pain. After the nap, as long as you keep up with your drops, there shouldn’t be an issue.

The surgery is more expensive than other places, but they do have the latest lasik machine. The EX500 with Contura if you need it. Other popular lasik providers in the area don’t always have that. When it came to my eyes, I was less concerned about saving money. I paid extra for a good doctor and the overall experience. They gave good guidance in eye care before and after surgery, and I know friends who paid less at other providers and didn’t get that. Their office and staff are all really nice as well, no issues.

The only downside is to maintain their vision correction “warranty” you have to provide proof you get your eyes checked yearly. Not terrible, but the point of this surgery is to not have to go to an eye dr anymore. I could possibly skip that, but if I need a correction again in 15/20 years it would be free.

Overall, I do recommend Rockville with Dr. Holtzman. Thank you!

More expensive than other places around, but the experience was actually very pleasant (including the op). Staff were great. The whole process start to finish was very simple, polished and relaxed.

I definitely recommend Dr. Holzman, the staff is helpful, patient and they really take the time to explain what to expect and thoroughly answered any questions.

On top of that Dr. Holzman was awesome, the procedure itself was quick! He talked me through everything he was doing (without too much detail to make me uncomfortable.)

The entire process was only about 10 minutes and you can see right after! My eye sight was “filmy” for about 3 days, but was 20/20 so it made up! The procedure was life changing and I highly recommend Dr. Holzman to any and everyone interested in getting Lasik!!! Thank you!

Here it goes..11 years later and my eyes are still 20/20. I used to have really poor vision and used contacts and glasses all the time. I am so happy I researched and found this facility. I went to to the initial consultation and they were very friendly and thoroughly checked to make sure I qualified for Lasik. My husband went along with me and they showed him how poor my vision was and he was amazed and said get done as soon as possible. The day of the surgery they gave me a pill to keep calm and some drops in my eyes. It was a very easy and only remember it taking no more than 10 minutes. The craziest part was that I was able to see 20/20 vision instantly once I got out of the chair. Amazing!!!! If anyone in management is reading this, I apologize for not giving my review sooner. Everything with my eyes are awesome, I almost forgot that I had my eyes done 🙂

I would recommend Dr. Holzman to anyone looking to do Lasik surgery. The staff was very professional from the consultation to the surgery. The patient consultant, Tina, was very helpful explaining the pre-op and post-op drop schedule and answered any questions I had. She was quick to email back when I had a question. For the consultation visit, they did tests and scans to make sure I was a good candidate to do Lasik. I got good news that I was a good candidate! Tina helped me schedule my Lasik surgery appt. Also, she gave me forms to take home with me to review and sign. When I came in for my surgery, I did not wait long to be called. Once I got called back, I was put in a room to go over post-op instructions and was given a goody bag with eye drops, black sunglasses and eye shield to use to sleep. The assistant put 2 different eye drops, I was given Xanax to help with anxiety and then I waited for Dr. Holzman to come in to talk to me. He came in and talked to me briefly about the procedure and asked if I had any questions. I was a little nervous but he helped keep me calm and explained each step during the surgery. It was a quick procedure and it was better than I thought it would be. I was given drops in case I had discomfort after the procedure, which I ended up using when I got home because I had a lot of discomfort on one eye. I went to sleep for 3 hours as instructed and woke up feeling better. Dr. Holzman texted me later at night to make sure I was feeling better. It’s been 2 weeks since I had the surgery and so far I’ve been able to see much better and clear. I’m glad my eye doctor referred me. I would recommend to anyone.

So. Worth. It. My experience with PRK:

I had had glasses/contacts since third grade. I’d saved up for Lasik since I graduated high school–putting aside almost as much as I spent on glasses/contacts in that time–just waiting for my terrible vision to stabilize. Before surgery, I had about 20/450 vision (-5.25 left and -5.75 right). Dr. Holzman was professional, careful, and thorough. I was a younger than usual candidate at 21 years old, but they took everything into account to tell me the best path forward. After my free consultation and a couple rounds of measurements and calculations, they recommended I get PRK instead of Lasik due to my thin cornea–it’s basically the same procedure with the same results, but a more intense recovery, and no flap. Dr. Holzman is fantastic–I never had any doubts during or after surgery that having him perform the surgery was the best decision I could have made. Each eye took only thirteen seconds, and then suddenly I could see the room. I cried–not because it hurt, because it didn’t hurt at all–but because I could see for the first time in 12 years. Recovery-wise, I had one/one and a half days of discomfort and pain on day 2 post-surgery–felt like I had sand in my eye, so try to schedule that day for when you can sleep it off. Otherwise, the recovery was mostly just dryness and improved every day. Use your drops!! And chill them–they feel really good. After two weeks out, my doctor told me I had 20/15 vision!!! My friends keep laughing at me because reading the clock has suddenly become my favorite thing to do, but I don’t care. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been–no longer will my eyes hold me back from enjoying life as a normal, seeing individual. Time to go get a pilot’s license, scuba dive, and maybe even fall asleep watching a movie. I can’t thank Dr. Holzman and his team enough!!!

I had Lasik 9 days ago. Dr Holzman and his team were wonderful- special thank you to Dr. Smerigilio, Ben, Andre, and Tammy. They see many patients and despite being a large company, everyone made me welcome, comfortable, and individualized.

The LASIK procedure was short and easy, and I had better than perfect vision the very next day. The technology has really come a long way. Dr. Holzman is great and so are the other doctors and staff. Very impressed with their knowledge, caring and professionalism. Thank you very much for taking care of my eyes.

I had Lasik done here 2 weeks ago and the experience could not have been better.
The staff is incredible and super helpful. They keep you informed and comfortable every step of the way. After that initial consultation I knew that this was the right place to get it done.
Dr. Holzman, the surgeon, is amazing! He is so nice. He even messaged me after the surgery to make sure I was doing well. He’s very experienced so you will be in great hands.
At approx $5k it’s definitely pricey- but it includes all the follow up visits (you have to go once a year) and a touch up (if in a few years your vision changes theyll correct it).
Also, with everything I pay in contacts and glasses this is well worth it.
I 1000% reccomend this place for anyone considering lasik in the dc area.

Just had my one year LASIK follow up yesterday, 20/20 vision, and figured it was finally time to leave a review.
If only I had known that I would only be out of contacts for 2 weeks, and not the week for each year of contact wear (like four months!) my primary optometrist told me I would need, I would have done it years sooner!
I’ll leave the details to other people since it’s been a year… but, everything & everyone was professional and thorough. Like everyone else, the actual procedure – while a bit strange – had no pain, was super quick, and I could see when I stood up. Thanks Dr Holzman!
Had 20/20 vision at day one eye doctor appointment.Followed all follow up instructions and regular eye appointments – all good to go! A couple surprises over the year: do not get caught without your drops, especially a couple months into it, especially if your job has you in front of a computer all day or if you have allergies. Surprised how I’m suddenly a crier when cutting onions, or drinking red wine. And need to be careful in windy situations, but no excessively dry eye situations.
Recommend at least going for the consult to everyone. Financed it with no interest, for up to 24 months. If you’re seriously considering it, I had a great experience and result!

My experience with the staff and Dr. Holzman was genuinely the best I could have imagined. From the beginning, Mariah was so nice and explained everything in great detail. Dr. Smeriglio was also amazing, really took the time to answer my questions and explain how the procedure would work. On the day of my surgery, I was obviously nervous and the staff was great at calming my nerves. Dr. Holzman followed up with me the day after, and the week after my surgery to make sure everything was good. The office was impeccable, clean and caring. I would recommend this center every time.

I’ve been thinking about laser correction for years but hadnt gotten around to it. My sister did it and swore it changed her life. She was right! I researched a few places and initially planned to use the eye doctors at Hopkins (I’m an anesthesiologist there) however, the eye consultation was free and my sister spoke very highly of Dr. Holzman. so I researched them a little more and went for the consultation. They only do laser eye correction and the doctors were extremely positive and informative. None of my interactions ever seemed rushed and they genuinely seem to care about how things r going. My surgeon texted me the night of surgery! I’m a doc too and I have NEVER done that. I really appreciated it. I ended up getting prk. They asked me if I could possibly get hit in the eye (higher risk for lasik) I said no. Then my daughter hit me in the eye that night. In addition to the shape of my eyes, prk made sense for me. I’m at 20/15 vision and very happy!!

My surgery with Dr. Holzman was a success. He was professional and even though he has completed this same surgery so many other times he explained everything thoroughly and was perceptive to my questions and concerns. Highly recommend.

While I did not have my LASIK procedure performed at this location, due to traveling for work, I came to this center for a post-op appointment and was very pleased with the attentiveness and caring nature of the staff and the speed of the service. I felt like the staff and doctor cared about my healing and results and were thorough, even though I hadn’t had the procedure done with them. Definitely recommend them!

I had LASIK done at with Dr. Holzman (McLean, VA) last week. I have been doing amazing since 3 hours after my procedure. I have not one single complaint. I am seeing 20/20. The entire staff and Dr. Holzman have the best customer service. I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Holzman and his team! You will not be disappointed 🙂

The staff and doctors with Dr. Holzman were extremely informed and answered all my questions. I had been to two other doctors and felt that Dr. Holzman and his staff were the best decision for me. I felt comfortable during the appointments, they provided clear and consistent answers and spoke to me in a manner that gave me the confidence to select Dr. Holzman as my final decision. When I met Dr. Holzman he made me feel comfortable and that I had made the best decision for my eyes. I would highly recommend them for their professionalism, education, and how they treat their patients.

I had my Lasik surgery two weeks ago, and I am so happy I went with Dr. Holzman! All of the staff (including front desk, technicians, optometrists, and the man himself Dr. Holzman) were pleasant to interact with, and made me comfortable. It was clear that they all knew what they were doing, and shared all of the information I needed in a helpful way (despite them having to repeat all of the same information at least 20 times a day!). The procedure itself was a breeze – I was in the ‘operating room’ less than 10 minutes! It’s amazing to be able to see without glasses or contacts. One of the best decisions I have ever made – I am grateful to all of the employees and staff!

Dr. Holzman is a great surgeon. He was professional and really took good care of me making sure I was comfortable with the procedure. I highly recommend him if you are considering getting Lasik. My follow up optometrist is another practice closer to my home and he commented that Dr. Holzman’s cut was clean on my eyes and I am healing well. One week post-op I had 20/15 vision.  The procedure was quick (maybe 7-8 minutes in the OR) and painless, his staff played I think 2 songs, gave me a teddy bear to hold onto and let me bring my own blanket so I was comfortable and warm. Dr. Holzman also texted me that evening to make sure I was feeling ok and then followed up a week later as well. Highly recommend him!

LASIK is a scary, risky procedure, so you want to go to the best possible provider. I’m not sure you could find a better place. They are extremely professional, knowledgable, and accommodating, and best of all they will be honest with you about risks–not just general risks, but those specific to your individual eyes. I always felt as though I was being treated fairly by the staff and they were patient with my litany of questions and scheduling confusions.

Best of all, I was a -6 (myopic, plus astigmatism) in glasses and I now see better than 20/20. If you’re considering LASIK, definitely consider Dr. Holzman.

So it’s the day after my LASIK procedure and I literally couldn’t wait to write this review. Dr. Holzman performs all surgeries in Rockville or Tyson’s (so check those reviews for more information). Only “qualification” visits are done at the DC location. *All* surgeries in Tyson’s are performed by Dr. Holzman only, so  it’s a doctor-driven practice. Let me tell you, the man knows what he is doing. When I found out how many pro-athletes in the DC area he had done the procedure on, I figured it was good enough for me. 24 hours after having my eyes done, I’m sitting here with sharper vision than I’ve ever experienced, and my eyes aren’t even done adjusting yet. Dr. Holzman’s staff was incredible – everyone was so friendly and and knowledgeable I was more relaxed than I expected to be when it was time for surgery. Shout out to Dr. Jen for being hilarious and calming my nerves. My eyes have no bruising today, and the surgery was really comfortable, despite a few minutes of pressure. I appreciated the cool music tunes Dr. Holzman had playing while he performed it (all for the patient’s comfort), the blanket to keep me warm, and the stuffed Nemo I had to hug. Yes, I’m a 32 year old woman, but the stuffed Nemo was clutch. After the surgery, I even got a text with Dr. Holzman checking up and his direct number in case I had questions or concerns. I’m thrilled with my results the day-after and the experience I had. My insurance policy didn’t cover it, but I am so so so happy I paid with my HSA instead of going to the shady discount-center the insurance would cover. After all, it’s your vision we’re talking about – not the time to bargain shop. Stop hesitating, choose Dr. Holzman.

Choosing Lasik with Dr. Holzman in Tysons Corner was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, period. Dr. Holzman and his staff are truly amazing and made every single step of this journey smooth and painless for me from the consultation meeting in the beginning to the pre-op and post-op Lasik process. They’re very professional and the best at what they do, and believe me, it’s absolutely worth every penny. Not to mention, they keep it fun too! I was extremely nervous on my procedure day, but Dr. Holzman does an incredible job of keeping you calm and making it a personalized experience. I’ve compared many LASIK offices prior to my surgery as part of my investigation. Dr. Holzman is apparently too expensive? They’re your EYES; you only get one pair and they deserve the best. Dr. Holzman took amazing care of me. You tend to focus on the stories of botched surgeries and become fearful but Dr. Holzman will wash your fears away with his confidence.

He is a conservative doctor and will only take you as a patient if you are a good candidate. This means that even if you’re not a candidate here, you could be somewhere else. There are other doctors who will perform even if the outcome is not 100% favorable for the patient. If he approves you, you are sure to be in good hands!

The Tysons location is polished and beautiful. The staff is attentive and accommodating. The office works to create a serene mood to calm you.

The procedure itself was very brief. Dr. Holzman gave me a teddy to squeeze and turned on some music. Machines forced my eyes to stay open as he operated. Basically, it looked like a blurry light show before my vision went dark (normal). There was no pain, only a hard pressure. The entire process took maybe 15 minutes before I was sent home.

You take a two hour nap and when you wake up your vision will be crystal clear. I went out to dinner the same day! Dr. Holzman even personally checked up on me 2 days later! Amazing experience.

I cannot say enough about the professionalism and care Dr. Holzman and his team showed during my lasik surgery. I was quite nervous about this surgery and everyone along the way reassured me and answered all my questions and concerns. Day of surgery I was still nervous, but they treat you so well and provide such a relaxing environment, that you have no choice but to chill! I don’t know why I was so nervous, the surgery on both eyes was over so quickly and I was so well-informed about what post-surgery would feel like, that I had no surprises whatsoever. If you are going to trust your vision with anyone, then do so with Dr. Holzman. It’s been a month now and I’m loving that I can see clearly now when I first wake up in the morning and all day without the aid of glasses or contacts.

I am absolutely in shock by the amazing results I received from Dr. Holzman & his staff. From the moment I went in for my consult to the actual surgery I can’t say enough great things. I have considered lasik for a long time but never had the courage to actually take the plunge. After going for my consult I scheduled my surgery for the first available date because I felt so comfortable with the thorough exam that was given at the initial consult. I feel like they are so thorough that it removes the fear and anxiety that something will go wrong. Dr. S who does the pre-op/consult stuff is great and makes you feel relaxed. Kristina is my favorite she makes the scheduling etc a breeze.
The surgery itself I didn’t even have time to feel nervous because everyone makes you feel so confident and comfortable. And then you meet Dr Holzman and you realize why so many people have trusted him. He gives you a little pep talk and is very forthcoming with what to expect. They have a great zen room where you sit and wait for your surgery and I just can’t say enough positive stuff. The moment you are taken into the surgery room they are all so gentle and kind that it doesn’t feel clinical at all. To be honest I feel like the procedure was comparable to a spa experience. If you follow all of their steps for the post care (taking a nap right away and using the drops diligently) you will be so happy you picked this practice. When I woke up from my nap and opened my eyes I wanted to cry because I could see!! And so clearly at that. I also woke up to a text from Dr Holzman himself to make sure I was feeling okay. I mean who does that?! And there were quite a few people waiting in the waiting room for their surgery so he is definitely not just sitting around with free time. I can see why he is so trusted. I am now four days post op and have never been happier about a decision. At my appointment this morning I was seeing better than 20/20. Worth every penny and Dr Holzman I am forever grateful for your amazing skill and this experience. I am 33 and have worn glasses/contacts since I was about 13. This is such a liberating thing to have the gift of sight once again.

I will update again in a few months but I can only imagine I will be even happier.

I had Lasik with Dr. Holzman in Tysons Corner. It was a great experience. He and the rest of the staff were very nice and approachable. They made me comfortable and were available to answer all of my questions. I had pretty bad astigmatism but after a very short surgery I could see! I went home, slept 3 hours, and woke up like nothing ever happened. Dr. Holzman even sent me a text that night to see how I was doing and followed up via email later on. My vision was 20/20 the following day and has been improving since then. I haven’t had the issues with dryness etc. that I was told might be an issue. It has been amazingly fast, effective, and side-effect free! I’d highly recommend the surgery and Dr. Holzman.

I had been considering vision correction for many years but waited to make sure my eyesight had stabilized and the technology was to the point where I was comfortable with the process and the results I could expect. My vision started deteriorating at a young age and I began wearing glasses in the 3rd grade. By the time I was in my early 20s I had approximately -7.5 eyesight and astigmatism in both eyes, I could not see without my glasses or contacts. Needless to say, the possibility of being able to see normally again, or at the very least better than I could, was a big deal and would vastly improve my quality of life.

Now at 34, I decided that this would be the year to go through with it and chose to have my LASIK procedure done by Dr. Holzman and his team. The entire process from my initial evaluation through the surgery was done professionally and all of the staff made me feel very comfortable there. After my procedure was done, Dr. Holzman followed up with me later that day to see how I was doing and answered my follow up questions promptly despite his busy schedule. I am very happy I decided to go with him and would highly recommend him to anyone considering a corrective eye procedure.

I am happy to say that it has been 8 months now since my procedure was done and my vision is 20/20 with the astigmatism corrected. I never thought I would be able to see again normally without the assistance of glasses or contacts. Despite my bad vision pre-op my vision was significantly better the day of the procedure, close to 20/20 a few days later, and shortly after that fully corrected. Thank you Dr. Holzman!

It’s been about two weeks from my Lasik surgery. It was everything I was expecting. A little scary but totally worth ever penny. At the Charlottesville location my experience was great! Clean and inviting. Everyone was great and pleasant from the beginning to the end. I would def. recommend this location and dr. Holzman.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Holzman. I was nervous but the doctor and his staff made me feel at ease. Dr. Holzman seemed to really care about how you’re doing afterwards.

The procedure was quick and I was amazed at the results. I know that results vary but during my next day follow up my vision was 20/20 and my eye doctor was amazed at the results. At my one week follow up I was told that my vision is actually 20/15 and it barely looks like I had the procedure done. That flap was that smooth and the placement that precise.

I am two weeks out and I could not be happier with the results. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.

I cannot say enough good things about my lasik experience with Dr. Holzman. I spent about two years researching and thinking about having the procedure and I definitely made the right decision. The TLC staff were friendly, thorough and accommodating. Dr. Holzman made the experience incredibly comfortable and is clearly a master at what he does. It has been just over a week since my procedure and my vision is 20/20 and expected to only get better. Dr. Holzman followed up via text and email but there were no issues whatsoever. Highly recommended.

I just had my PRK procedure yesterday in Charlottesville VA. I’ve been wearing glasses since 2nd grade & I can’t thank the staff and Dr. Holzman for giving me the best experience with lasik I could have asked for. Would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking into having LASIK.

I had PRK surgery in 2012 and now have 20/15 vision in both eyes. I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Money well spent!

Cannot believe that anyone could have anything bad to say about this laser eye practice! I have been waiting a few months to write this as I wanted to see my ultimate results and now is perfect time.
I spent a few years researching who was the best in the DMV and Holzman/TLC was what everyone and everything told me. He has like over a hundred 5 star reviews online. I asked several eye doctors and I also knew like 5 or 6 people that had gone thru a procedure with Holzman – office workers and friends.. so I was sold. Nobody had a bad word to say at all and everyone was happy. If you really look at his reviews his are consistently the best.
I had my surgery 3 months ago and everything I had heard was true. The staff there is awesome and caring and helpful. Dr Holzman was a super nice guy, explained everything with a great degree of confidence which was really reassuring. He also coached me thru the procedure and even played great music (with my music station choice) during the surgery! It was so much easier than I thought it would be. The whole process couldn’t be easier. Dr Holzman definitely cares about his patient and his craft. he texted with me that evening and followed up the next week. My vision is insanely good. It is better than 20/’20 and have never seen better in my life with contacts or glasses!
I will have to say that this was easily the best decision of my life other than marrying my awesome wife! The experience was first class the whole way. Great job and keep it up!!

I had a wonderful experience at TLC!! I had lasik done two weeks ago and i cant get over how clear my vision is, no more contact lenses or glasses for me!! 🙂 The staff at TLC was wonderful, always smiling, willing to help and very patient with my million questions. The entire procedure took almost no time. I wish i did this years ago!! If you are thinking about lasik, definitely go to TLC!

I was very nervous about this surgery, but Dr. Holzman and his team were awesome. They are so organized, answered all my questions so I felt at ease, and, most importantly, did a wonderful job with my vision correction. For the first time in my life, I can see! It’s amazing. I had LASIK surgery a week ago and had a very good experience with TLC. Their staff is extremely friendly, and they were all wonderful to my two-year-old son, who waited with my wife in the reception area while I had my surgery, which barely took an hour from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. The whole experience was very relaxed, and though I was warned many times that my vision would fluctuate as my eyes healed, I’ve had incredible 20/15 vision over the last week, which is a strange experience for someone who has worn glasses since he was nine years old.

Super happy with Dr. Holzman. I have 20/20 vision (or better) and no dryness or any other side effects 🙂

After deciding to go with laser eye surgery to correct my nearsightedness I was disappointed to learn that I was not LASIK eligible. Instead I would have to get PRK. I was a little scare based on the horror stories I read online but after meeting with the staff at TLC I decided to go for it. The procedure itself was easy. Dr. Holzman was great to work with and made me feel comfortable before and during the procedure. With PRK you are going to have some pain and discomfort. Mine was not too bad and only lasted about 2-3 days. I am now a month out from my surgery and my vision is 20/20. My optometrist that I am doing my follow up care said he expects me to be 20/15 by my 3 month appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Holzman and TLC rockville!

Dr Holzman performed bladeless lasik on my eyes last week. He was very professional and did an excellent job. I had some reservations about the procedure but after going into the room, i realized it wasn’t frightening at all. Dr. Holzman is a great surgeon and the staff at TLC are top notch. The best part is that I can see without glasses or contacts!! It is a life changer.

Dr Holzman and his team at TLC in Tyson’s corner were absolutely fantastic!! My mind was set at ease from the start and they patiently answered the hundred questions I had. It would be easy for a company that does so many procedures to make someone feel like you fell through the cracks but not here- here I felt like the only person they were thinking about at the moment was me.
