Today we got a late start due to the heavy rains in the area, but had a great day nonetheless. I operate in the Rockville, Maryland Laser Eye Center two or three times per month, and we see patients from all over Maryland who want to have vision correction. Patients from Wheaton, Bethesda, Frederick, Potomac and Gaithersburg Maryland are all within easy driving distance and visited the office today. I saw an athlete from Frederick Maryland whose eyes were so near sighted he could not even see his hands before surgery. Immediately following LASIK today on the Custom Vue Visx laser, it’s like a miracle.. he no longer needed any glasses at all! I did a PRK vision correction procedure on a cosmetic saleswoman from Silver Spring and we used the ALLEGRETTO Wavelight laser. I prefer the Allegretto for my PRK cases as it is a bit gentler on the surface. She will be very happy! I saw a family of Firefighters also. The father who is in Montgomery county, the daughter who is also full time firefighter and the son, who wants Laser Vision Correction so he can become a DC firefighter. These are very gratifying procedures! I love my job!
