The KAMRA™ inlay, available with Dr. Andrew Holzman at TLC Laser Eye Center, represents a breakthrough in the treatment of presbyopia, the condition in which a person’s near vision begins to decline at around the age of 40. For people who are struggling with near vision issues, this gives us an opportunity to restore their reading and near vision without compromising their distance vision. It is with these people in mind that Dr. Holzman is holding a free, no-obligation patient seminar for the KAMRA™ inlay.

The KAMRA™ inlay seminar will take place on November 17, 2016 at Dr. Holzman’s Tysons Corner, VA office location and on November 21, 2016 at his Rockville, MD office location. Every person who attends the seminar will receive a free consultation to determine his or her candidacy for the KAMRA™ inlay. A patient who has undergone the surgical procedure to place the KAMRA™ inlay will also be on hand to speak about the experience and answer questions. Anyone with presbyopia is welcome to attend either of the free seminars.

For further information about the KAMRA™ inlay or the free seminars to discuss this extraordinary technology, please contact the TLC Laser Eye Centers and Dr. Andrew Holzman, the eye surgeon that other eye doctors trust, today. We also encourage patients to watch Dr. Holzman on Good Morning America; this video features Dr. Holzman and one of his patients discussing the KAMRA™ inlay.

What Is the KAMRA™ Inlay?

The KAMRA™ inlay is an implantable lens, thinner than the average contact lens, composed of a biocompatible material that allows only focused light to reach the retina. This increases the depth of focus, improving or entirely restoring the patient’s near vision. As a result, patients who have the KAMRA™ inlay surgically placed usually emerge from the procedure with either a reduced need for reading glasses or no need whatsoever.

The surgery performed to place the KAMRA™ inlay requires only about 20 minutes and is done on an outpatient basis. No stitches are needed to close the incision made in the cornea, through which the KAMRA™ inlay is placed. Optimal near vision is usually achieved within two weeks of lens implantation.

Are You a Good Candidate for the KAMRA™ Inlay?

The only sure way to know whether you are a good candidate for the KAMRA™ inlay is to attend one of the free seminars and take advantage of your free consultation with Dr. Holzman; or, if you cannot attend one of the seminars, you can always schedule a consultation when your schedule allows. In the meanwhile, you may be  a good candidate for the KAMRA™ inlay if you:

  • Are between the ages of 45 and 60
  • Have good occular health with minimal overall health issues
  • Need near vision correction to see nearby objects clearly
