My name is Dr. Keith Smithson. I’m in practice outside of Washington, D.C., northern Virginia. I’ve been the Director of Visual Performance for the Washington Nationals, Team Optometrist for the Washington Redskins, Washington Wizards, Washington Spirit, and the Visual Performance Consultant for the Washington Capitals. You know, there’s a lot of things that we do and use our eyes for day to day which are very dynamic in nature. We drive on eight-lane highways, we work on multiple computer screens, we have environments that involve going inside and outside, so we’re looking at maximizing every aspect of that vision. And again, if this was your mom or dad, that’s the analogy I use. Would you shop around and call heart surgeons and say, “Who’s going to do it for $500 less? Who gives me a warranty on my heart surgery?” This is a surgical procedure, so let’s go after it, let’s get the best thing possible as far as the surgical procedure itself, the best experience possible as far as the follow-up care, and also join into a nationwide network of doctors. And for me, that’s a big selling point of TLC.
